We have received an order for hoses (total length 1200m) to be used for transporting oil to remote islands by Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force oil tankers!
This hose is a 6-inch hose made by Angus, UK.Offshore 850 hose (details here)It features a special coupling suitable for towing and deploying across the sea surface, as well as towing fittings with air vents.
This hose is suitable for transporting chemicals and fuel oils, as it has low-resistance metal wires woven into the hose body to prevent static electricity. It lies flat when not pressurized and is expected to be used for emergency transport in the event of a Nankai Trough earthquake, when oil pipelines may be damaged.
Oil companies and others are considering introducing this as an emergency measure during earthquakes.
We also have a track record of supplying equipment to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Antarctic bases, and the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
